Richard Vohnoutka Obituary

Richard P. Vohnoutka, Sr., 86, of Westport passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the son of the late Ernest A. and Mary E. (Days) Vohnoutka.

Mr. Vohnoutka was born in Fairhaven and had resided in Westport for all of his life. He served in the Army Reserve for 8 years. Prior to retirement, he worked as a union electrician for IBEW Local 437, Fall River. He also served on the Westport Town Building Committee, Westport Housing Authority , the Town Personnel Board and was Vice-Chair of the Democratic Committee.

Survivors include his 3 sons: Richard P. Vohnoutka, Jr. and his wife Gayle of Dartmouth, Paul A. Vohnoutka and his wife Kim of Berkley and Andrew A. Vohnoutka and his wife Maria of Berkley; his 2 daughters: Katherine A. Dolan of Tiverton and Ann Marie Leonardo and her late husband Luiz Leonardo of Taunton; 2 sisters: Mary E. Durette of Fall River and Melanie J. Palmer of NY; a brother: Eric Vohnoutka of Dartmouth; 14 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Ernest A. Vohnoutka.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation will be Thursday, at the Potter Funeral Home, from 9-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

I met Richard walking his dog Rex in the walking trails he loved him so much he talked about his loyal friend every time he will be greatly missed see you in heaven
