Frank Gambalie

Frank P. Gambalie July 2, 1920~March 13, 2010 Resident of Bay Point Frank Gambalie, 89, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010. He was a native and a longtime resident of Pittsburg. Frank worked as a carpenter for 40 years and a commercial fisherman for 60 years. He fished in Pittsburg, Monterey, Washington, and Alaska waters. Frank was a member of the Carpenters Local Union #152 in Martinez, Alaska Independent Fisherman's Association, Italian American Club, and Our Lady Queen of the World Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Vera Gambalie; sons Joe Gambalie (Joanne) and Frank Gambalie Jr., (Betty); five grandchildren Gary, Michael, Gia, Richie, and Robbie; six great-grandchildren Andrew, Ben, Emily, Alex, Ashlyn, and Mikayla; brother Sal Gambalie; sister Frances Russo, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson Frank Gambalie III and three sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 3:00pm with a vigil at 5:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
