Gino Pellegrini Obituary

GINO PELLEGRINI Passed away peacefully February 24, 2006 at Gordon Manor in Redwood City, CA. surrounded by his loving wife and many loving care givers. Gino was the beloved husband of Josephine Pellegrini, predeceased by wife Eda of 43 years, dearest stepfather of Vincent (Judy) Pernice, Linda Pernice and Jeanne (Ken) Radigan. Cherished Nonno to Nicole, Brianna, Kelsey and Tristan. Adored uncle to Ivano (and the late Norine) Pellegrini and Sonia (Ray) Picone and numerous family and friends. Born in Stockton, CA. He was 90 years of age. Raised in Altopascio, Italy from age 5 until 17 years old at which he returned to his native California. Gino had a deep passion to play the mandolin since he was 10 and was self taught. He went on to become the Director and Concert Master of the Aurora Mandolin Orchestra, was a member of the San Francisco Athletic Club where he played and coached soccer, and was a member of the Sons of Italy. Gino was a showman, he kept everyone captive with his flamboyant personality while performing magic tricks, dancing, (especially the "Tango", giving him the nickname "Valentino") and playing the mandolin. He was creative with many talents including photography and cinematography. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be at WHITE OAKS CHAPEL, 1696 El Camino Real, San Carlos on Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 4-7:00 P.M., Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass Friday, March 3 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 880 Tamarack Ave., San Carlos. Interment at Italian Cemetery, Colma. Donations in Gino's memory may be made to Roesner House, 500 Arbor Rd., Menlo Park, CA 94025 or Kaiser Hospice, 900 Veterans Blvd., Redwood City, CA 94061. WHITE OAKS CHAPEL (650) 591-5791
