Stan Whitehead Obituary

Stan Whitehead Stan Whitehead passed away peacefully on January 13, 2006, after a struggle with cancer. Stan was well known in the East Bay for his creative endeavors. He wrote poems, short stories and an unfinished novel. He dabbled in photography, painting, and sketching/journal writing. He taught Graphic Design at the community college level, and Creative Writing, Art Appreciation, and Current Perspectives at Albany Senior Center and El Cerrito Community Center. He created a magazine called "Solos" that focused on East Bay happenings. He was truly a renaissance man. Stan was a loving father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his sons Paul and Jay Whitehead, daughter-in-law Sara and granddaughters Katya and Romily. Those who knew and cared about Stan are invited to a celebration of his life at the Figtree Gallery, 927 Parker Street, Berkeley (between 7th and 8th Sts.), on Sat., Jan. 21, 2:00 pm.
