Brent MacLowick Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Jan. 18, 2005.
MacLOWICK, Brent Edward John (August 16, 1965 - January 14, 2005) It is with great sadness that the family of Brent Edward John MacLowick announces that he left this earth on January 14, 2005, following a brief but courageous battle with viral pneumonia complicated by cardiac arrest. He has joined his Oma, Lucie Birkholz and his grandfather, John MacLowick in a kinder, gentler garden. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his partner, Monte Gannon; his loving parents, Rita and Bill MacLowick; his brother Darren and wife Shelley MacLowick and their children, Garrett, Landon, Kylie, Kennedy and Teygan; his sister Cori and husband Grey Knechtel and their son Parker; Monte's two sons, Jarod and Derek; Opa Edward Birkholz; Grandma Marie MacLowick; his close friend and Uncle, Dennis Birkholz and fiance Rhonda; many uncles, aunts, cousins and relatives and countless numbers of friends who Brent touched with his caring spirit, zest for life and immeasurable generosity. Brent will be missed by his constant companion for the last ten years, his dog O.J. The family sincerely expresses our admiration and appreciation to Dr. Stan Houston, Dr. Hudson, nurses Gail, Heather and all of the staff of the Adult Intensive Care Unit at the University of Alberta Hospital. No greater care on earth could be found. Also thank you to all who have supported Brent and our family at this time. Cremation has taken place and a private commemoration of Brent's short but fulfilling life will be held. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Brent's name may be made to the World Wildlife Foundation or to the charity of your choice. The Garden of Heaven welcomes you Brent with loving arms. You will be able to garden there forever and prepare another paradise for us when we join you. You are already missed and will be forever remembered.
