SYDORKO, Mary CHMILIAR - YANITSKI 1 April, 1909 - 9 January, 2008 On January 9, 2008, Mary Sydorko of Edmonton, formerly of Myrnam, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years, with family at her bedside in St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre. Mary will be lovingly remembered by daughter-in-law, Natalka Yanitski of Sherwood Park; sons, Frank Yanitski of Edmonton and Nick (Frances) Yanitski of Myrnam; daughter, Janet (Emile) Longpre of Edmonton; eleven grandchildren, Linda Smith, Dwayne (Donna) Yanitski, Rosanne (Paul) Murynka, Norman (Betty) Yanitski, Lisa Sparks, Mark Yanitski, Jim (Janice) Yanitski, Jack (Lori) Yanitski, Ron (Carol) Yanitski, Don Yanitski and Shelley (Daryl) Gordon; as well as twenty-one great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by brother, Peter (Lillian) Chmiliar; sisters-in-law, Helen Chmiliar and Edna Chmiliar, all of Edmonton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mary was predeceased by son, Walter Yanitski in August 2007; her first husband, John Yanitski (1946); second husband, John Sydorko (1959); a son and daughter in infancy; her parents, Fred and Ksenia Chmiliar; brothers, Mike, Bill and Nick Chmiliar; sister, Annie Hayduk and son-in-law, Bert Belcourt. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff and caregivers at St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre for the care and compassion Mary received. Janet: Sorry to hear about your loss. I remember the day we took your mother to visit my mother-in-law Nancy. They had not seen each other for 60 years. What a reunion that was!
