Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. My Deepest condolences to my Cousins Marti Segura Nitschke, Joe Ray Segura, and Victor Segura and your extended families.

I am at a loss for words right now, very hard to know that I will not hear that rough and still soft voice saying "Hi Mija", and "Thank you Mija", when I would call, to say Happy Birthday, or when I would run into you at outings on occasion, and would ask "where's your Mom and Dad".

I felt somewhat closer to you, knowing that that not only were you my Uncle, but also My Godfather. I would so mention that to my Mom, beaming with Pride, that I was going to my Nino and Nina's house to stay and visit with Marti.

But, I am consoled by the picture in my head, that you were greeted on the day of your passing, by Jesus, my Nina Baby, my Grandma and Grandpa, and your brothers, welcoming you home with Great Big Hugs.

I am sure you are reunited and are talking about the old times, the memories made and left behind, as we all do when would gather at Grandma Nela's, on Sunday's to visit eat, drink and listen to Music. To see the Brother's (my Uncles) gather, and their Sisters, and then reach for the brother closest to them in age, as their dance partners. The look of Happiness in my grandparent's faces was priceless.

Those of us that were in tow, with our parents, who have these beautiful MEMORIES, now is priceless too and understand about "Familia".

Nino Hooks, thanks for coming over to our home when you could, to cheer on the Cowboys with my guys too (Big John, Little John and Jeremiah Martinez), they so enjoyed your visits, loved your gestures and enthusiasm, while watching the Games, and when you joined us on a couple of Camping and Fishing Trips. YOU were so LOVED and will be Missed very much. Love You!!!!!

My sincere condolences to my cousins Marty, Joey and Victor and their families. My uncle was lovingly known to us as Uncle Hooks! When I was young I asked why ,my Dad replied with a big smile and said he had a great right hook! My Mom referred to him with so much love in her eyes "My Baby Brother"!! He would walk in and brighten up the atmosphere he was respected , loved and admired. He will be so missed!! When we had family gatherings the aunties fighting to dance with him is a great memory. He's the last of our 6 uncles to go now but will live in our hearts ,our thoughts and always in our stories of family. Now he's with the rest of our Segura uncles and family!
