Dick Azar was a wonderful, caring man who always had time to help a friend or acquaintance. We had a business relationship for over 25 years with complete harmony. Not many men can say that about themselves, but it is absolutely true about Dick. I will miss you Dick for your humor, wisdom and good nature. As one pilot to another, have a good flight, friend! Sam Hardage and the good people at Chase Suite Hotels.

Susie,
Tim and I will always remember Dick as most Wonderful-not only to both of us but to everyone he came across in his life. I would not be the person I am without his guidance in the Amigo Airshow as he encouraged me to become a Director. He was always there helping me grow and develop my skills.

Both of you will always be close to our hearts and we fondly remember the night of our wedding in 1990 when you and Dick graciously picked us up at the Santa Teresa Airport after the reception and flew us around the city in your airplane as a wedding gift. We still have the two little bears that were hanging from the door when we entered the plane! It was a very special memory that we will cherish.

Dick was larger than life and will continue on in all of the work he created and people he touched! We were very moved at the memorial it was a beautiful tribute! We loved him and we love you!

Please allow me to offer my condolences to the Azar family. I can give credit to Dick for fostering my interests in the Space Shuttle Program and alternative energy, specifically photovoltaics. Dick's enthusiasm and commitment to the El Paso Community in offering some of the first "Get Away Special" packages for the Shuttle's onboard research opportunities for students and teachers was very motivating to me. I think Dick would be happy to know that I continue to work on materials issues in space exploration vehicles even to this day. Thanks Dick for making my dream into a reality!

We all knew and referred to him as 'Mr Azar'. My dad had so much respect and love for Mr Azar that he expected us kids to do the same. And it was very easy to do and came naturally; to feel a sincere respect and affection for such a kind, generous person who was always so full of life. I will always remember him with that warm smile, skip in his step and that cigar smell in his office. He was a tue man of God who preached the Gospel without words, but by his actions. May you rest in peace Mr Azar. With my sincerest love, affection and respect. Ben Tellez (son of Patricio 'Ticho' Tellez)

Suzie,
Our thoughts an prayers are with you. I remember first meting Richard in London, England. I had just been stationed there and you invited me to attend the "Cats" play. I had to rent a beat up car, had no decent clothing, and was ashamed to met Richard in that fashion. Later that week we attended the Beverly wedding in Beverly, England. The next year I was blessed with having Christine and Michelle stay with us for 2 weeks and feared I was in deep trouble after Michelle chopped her hair off.

Upon our arrival in New Mexico, you tracked us down, loaded up a few baskets of goodies, flew into Clovis, and we had a wonderful Memorial Day lunch.

We shall always cherish these and so many more wonderful memories of Dick. His humor and generosity will live on!

The Dick I knew was Uncle Dick, my God Father. I only knew him in the first half of his life... the half that went to mass every day and received communion. The family father of Cheryl, Richard, Robert and Greg and AuntNesa. I'm sure he was the same generous person as the one I knew back then. My condolences to his children.

Toni Tellez

Hi Susie,
Toni Tellez from Denver (Pat's Daugther). Just want to give you my sincere sympathy. I pray that the Love and peace of God be with you and your family always. Mr Azar was a great Man. I remember when my parents had a roll over and he flew to Midland Texas to bring my Mom back to El Paso, after she flew out of the car and suffered broken hip and ribs and head injury.

Thank you for all that you did for my Father, through out all the years.

Dear Suzie,
We offer our sincere condolences to you and your family. The first time I had the pleasure of meeting Dick was when Dad and he took me to enroll at NMMI... I will never forget the time that Dick flew up to NMMI to pick my father and I up to go to the NMMI football game Andy was playing in Clovis and were taken to the game by the New Mexico State Police. Dick was an amazing man one who touched my life and help in me becoming the person I am today. I will sadly miss him...

Suzie, always remember...

Psalm 91:9-16, For encouragement in this he looks unto Jesus. He shall live long enough; till he has done the work he was sent into this world for, and is ready for heaven.

Dick has done some fine work, and I know for sure he is in the “Book of Life” wherein God records the names and lives of the righteous! Please find peace in this.

Although this news truly saddens me, I feel so blessed to have seen you both in March 2009. Further, to call him a friend!

I will miss you - Richard (Dick) Azar. I know our family does too!

God bless you and your family!
