Miss Wakeem was my first grade teacher at Putnam Elementary School in El Paso. She steered me from a chaotic 6 year old to a young student with the desire to learn and eventually teach. She was the first person to call me Charlie and I think of her whenever I hear that name.

Yvonne was such a wonderful person. She provided inspiration to the entire El Paso Independant School District Council of PTAs assembly for years. Each time she addressed the group, she touched me in such a manner that I was so much of a better person. She would inspire us to be the best parents we could be, the best teachers we could be and to share our love often with those around her.

Rest in Peace Ms. Wakeem you really set the foundation for my success in life, at a time when most educators were of a mean and uncaring spirit, you stood out and above all educators at the time.
Thank you, bless you, will miss you.

There is so much to say about our beautiful Vonny! Wonderful mother to not only Charlie and Sean, but the multitude of others who called her mom. Loving mother to her two beautiful daughter-in-laws, Lisa and Jessica. Being Nanny to Maddy, Rielly, Danica and Eli, and watching the smiles they brought to her face. A teacher to so many, and of course one of the best friends I will ever be blessed with. I love her, and will miss her. My love to her family. Love you all!
