Ramiro Alvarado Obituary

Ramiro Alvarado, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018.

Ramiro was born in El Paso, TX on April 19, 1927. Upon leaving high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman first class aboard the USS Missouri during WWII. In 1952, he married the love of his life, Esperanza Zuloaga.

He never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with a firm handshake and genuine smile.

He was also an active member of the El Maida Shrine Temple and spent many years in the Shrine Motor Patrol. In addition, he delighted in training young Masons and raising money for the Shriners Hospital.

Ramiro is preceded in death by his loving wife, Esperanza; brother, Arnulfo Alvarado; sisters, Margaret Bell, Elvira Jaquez and Bertha Terrell. He is survived by his brother Alfredo (Ruth) Alvarado, and sisters, Hortencia Sierra and Ofelia Placencia; sons, Ray (Karen), Tony (Brenda), Mark, Andrew (Carol) and Phillip (Philip Laden); grandchildren, Christine (Kelly) MacCarroll, Elizabeth (Jason) Hopkins, Alyssa (Michael) Smith; Jason, Steven, Wesley, Phillip and Michelle Alvarado; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Madeline MacCarroll and Saoirse Hopkins; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Remy I miss you everyday! there's not a day that goes by where I don't think about your warmth, your kindness your and overall gentleman demeanor and a good role model for any man. You were like a father to me. The passing of you on my birthday brought such pain to my heart. But I thought maybe that it was God's way of showing me that you were in no longer in any pain and that was a gift to me and anyone who ever loved you and wanted the best for you. This brings tears to my eyes because I know that you are up there watching us and wanting the best for us and possibly asking God to bestow protection on us during these uncertain times. Or maybe just enjoying a pain free spiritual heaven as it should be! Love you always! Remember you always!

Love, Becky

I have lived in California all my life but have kept my Texan family in my heart. As a child my Pa "Memo Zuloaga" would take us on road trips to see our relatives in El Paso. I will always remember amongst other great memories of that time, my Uncle Remy and his warm presence. He was always so welcoming and made me feel so loved. Thank you, Uncle Remy. Our sincere condolences to Ray, Tony, Mark, Andrew, Philip and Family.
With Love, Aunt Lupe and Yolanda Zuloaga Gonzales and Family.

Ray, Tony, Mark, Andrew, Phillip, Alfredo, Hortencia, Ofelia, Armando, and all grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws, you all have my deepest loving sympathy for your tremendous loss. If you were in the company of Mr. Alvarado, you knew he was going to make you forget any problems you had. He had a way of seeing everything in God's light. His sense of humor was beyond words!!! On Ascension Day Jesus promised us that He had gone to prepare a place for each and every one of us. I know that Mr. Alvardo, (my Beautiful Friend) has a seat up-frontand-center in Heaven. Mr. Alvarado loved his Bowie Bear friends. You will be missed my FRIEND!
