Damon Harrison Obituary
Des Moines
Damon Kirk Harrison, 52, of 2700 Thornton Ave, Des Moines, died March 28, 2012, unexpectedly. He was born in Union City, PA, June 15,1959. Son of the late James and Colleen Harrison. Damon worked for STERIS Corporation for almost 30 years. He loved to weight lift and go cycling.
He was preceded in death by his parents James A. Harrison in 1992, Colleen N. Harrison in 2011, and his brother Jeff.
Survivors include his wife Rebecca and three daughters Lindsey, Randi, and Abigail of Des Moines; brothers Mark and his wife Mari of McKean, PA, and Shawn and his wife Kimberly of Raleigh, NC.
Visitation is at the West Des Moines United Methodist Church, 720 Grand Ave, West Des Moines Friday, April 13, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial Service Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the WoundedWarriors,com or a charity of your choice.

Man, I miss my friend. I think of you from time to time and all the laughs we had. Every time I see a rifle or play a combat video game I think of all those times we ran together in a virtual universe. Two old kids wearing headsets, wondering through a virtual forest or desert. A strong patriot who was a powerhouse in the gym. I know you´re keeping my seat warm in heaven for me. We have a lot of catching up to do. See you soon brother. Big love to Crazyhorse80. Hooyaa.

I had worked for AMSCO for 34 years. After a few years had gone by during an AMSCO meeting, we both discovered we were from the Erie area....

I saw Damon for the first time in a long while last summer. He had the same radiant smile and love of life as always. I'll always remember growing up with him and my brother Tim. Surely they are hanging out together in heaven. Becky and girls, Mark, Shawn and your families our prayers are with you.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Damon. He always had a great sense of humor and made all of us laugh. I have very fond memories of skiing with Damon when we were young and laughing with him at our reunions. The Class of 77 has lost a great one. My prayers and condolences go out to the family.

I was completely saddened to hear of Damons passing. He was my favorite sales rep and had a lot of knowledge to share. He taught me a lot as our rep and I thank him for that. He will be truely missed.

We are so saddened by your loss. We were so blessed to see Damon and all of you last summer. After 20 years since I last saw him, his smile was just as beaming as ever and he was full of love. Becky and girls....how to express what we feel is very difficult..the world has lost an awesome person. I really liked Damon, one of my favorite reps! He was always cheerful and funny, very helpful as well. It always made my day when he came in because he would make me laugh! He will be greatly missed. I still can't believe he won't be coming in anymore. My prayers for all of his family for strength to get through this.
