Irene O'Leary Obituary

Irene Miriam Willson O’Leary Irene Miriam Willson O’Leary, 98, of North East died on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at her residence. She was born on October 4, 1909 in Canonsburg, Pa. to the late Ray V. and Irene Katherine Dickinson Willson. Historically, Miriam was a direct descendant of the revolutionary figure John Dickinson. She graduated from Miss Connelly’s School of Business and attended Carnegie Technical School. Miriam was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, lifetime member of the St. Gregory Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Marcellus Raymond O’Leary who she married January 14, 1933; a daughter Irene Kathryn O’Leary; brothers Robert Willson, Ray Willson, Carleton Willson, William Willson, and half-brother Van Willson; a sister Madolyn Willson. Survivors include sons Dr. Robert J. O’Leary and wife Barbara of North East, James O’Leary and wife Marilyn of Michigan, George O’Leary and wife Sandy of Waterford, and Dr. Joseph M. O’Leary and wife Kim of North East; daughters Patricia Ring and husband Bill of North East, Marcia O’Leary of North East, Louise Wilson and husband Dennis of North East, Anne O’Leary of North East, Rebecca Devine and husband Attorney David Devine of Edinboro; half-sister Betty Pat Runyon of LaPlata, Maryland; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Private family visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory Catholic Church, South Pearl Street, North East on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory School, 140 West Main Road or St. Gregory Catholic Church, 136 West Main Road, North East, PA 16428. Arrangements by the William D. Dear O'leary family,
Let me first say my sympathy is with all of you. Your mother was a warm kind wonderful person. She ment alot to me. I remember all the good times at the St.Patrick's
parties, and the NotreDame football games at Joe's house.
I will miss her gentle voice and her gentle good nature.
She did a wonderful job raising such a fine family whom I am proud to know. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Miss you all and
