Wilbur E. "Bud" Johnson Jr.

Wilbur E. “Bud” Johnson, Jr. Wilbur E. “Bud” Johnson, Jr., 77, 1324 S. Shore Dr., succumbed to his illness Tuesday, May 3, 2006 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center at Presque Isle Bay. He was born in Pittsburgh April 7, 1929, son of the late Wilbur E. and Mildred (Forsaith) Johnson, Sr. He attended Mercersburg Academy and was a graduate of Avonworth High School. He received his B. A. Degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., and attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania for post-graduate studies. He was a veteran of the US Army and had been stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. Mr. Johnson began his career with his father in the firm of Johnson and Johnson Investment Bankers, and in 1966 founded his own business, Chadakoin Counsel, Inc., an investment advisory firm, retiring from the business in 1997. He was an avid boater and member of the Erie Yacht Club, where he served on its long range planning committee. He was a member and past President of the Aviation Club, former Fire Chief of the Ben Avon Heights, Pa., Volunteer Fire Company, a board member of the Chautauqua Lake Assoc., served on the S.O.A.R. committee to preserve clean air in the community, and was a 50-year member with Honorary Status at the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Perry) Johnson; a son, W. Eric Johnson, and his wife, Cheryl, of Erie; and two grandchildren, Walter and Quinn Johnson, both of Erie. Friends may call at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 W. 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd., Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at which time a Memorial Service will be held.
