Robert Lachowski Obituary

Robert Lachowski passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 (z Bogiem). He was the son of Mieczyslaw and Walerja Zuzniewa Lachowski.

Bob is survived by his sisters, Medis Kent, Ruth Songer (Curtis), Lily Ohmer (Thomas), and Laurie Vendetti; and nieces, Amber Oaks, and Kyla, Shaina and Camille Pegher.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Sergeant Donald Oaks Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Charles Kent and John Vendetti.

Bob graduated from East High School. He was employed by General Electric, the last position he held was safety coordinator, until his retirement. He was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps. Bob was an avid motorcycle rider and rode with the Patriot Guard, a group that escorted Fallen Heroes to their final resting place. Bob participated in the Bridge Brigade that planted flags on Erie bridges honoring veterans.

Bob loved the outdoors and could be seen over the years walking through his neighborhood or the Allegheny Forest trails followed by a dog. He will be sadly missed by his dog, Diamond, his cat, Eight Ball, and the many strays he fed daily.

Services and interment for Bob are private and being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd.

Memorial contributions may be made to Erie Trap and Release, 3335 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508.

Ruth,
My heart aches to hear of the passing of your brother Bob. I too lost my brother a few years ago and know how difficult this time is. As friends in high school, I remember how close you were to Bob and I pray those wonderful memories sustain you at this time. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Your old friend,

Bob was a great neighbor, his love for his dog's, and the homeless cats in the neighborhood was unending. He will be missed. RIP Bob!

He was the love of my life. Often I would think of him and even have dreams of him. I wish that we could have made it work. My heart is broken. I known that we will meet in our Father's house one day.

To Medis, Ruth, Lily and Laurie,
My very deepest sympathies to all of you. May God comfort you during this time and always.

What I know of Robert was by way of his devotion to his family. Honor and integrity were hallmarks of his character. He was the epitome of the loving and protective 'brother'; Medis was blessed to have had him behind her artistic endeavors; certainly a 'wind beneath her wings'. A gallant companion, with a loving heart and generosity; to man and beast alike. He watches from elsewhere. My belief, as all of us will be standing to answer before God; that he is in his house forever. E. N. Kraftician

I was a co-worker and friend of Bob's at G.E. We worked out together sometimes at the G.E. Fitness Center, training upstairs in the boxing center. Bob was a military veteran like myself, a great martial artist, and an expert in escrima sticks( martial arts weapons training). So sorry to hear about his passing, please accept our sympathies and prayers at this sad time. Going to miss you brother
