Catherine Jankowski Obituary
She was born on August 16th, 1921, a daughter of the late Ignatius and Bronaswala Gawrych Szymula.
Catherine attended Holy Trinity School and after that went on to Academy High School where she was in the Drum and Bugle Corps. Catherine met her husband, Alfred, and they married on July 25th, 1942. They were married for 61 years until Alfred passed away in 2003. Catherine than went on to live with her daughter, Donna and son-in-law, Ronnie.
Catherine was a member of the Ave Maria Society, where she met some of her lifelong friends.
Catherine enjoyed life and was sure to make anyone that she encountered laugh! She enjoyed cooking for many years at the Polish Falcons Club. She loved to follow baseball and rooting for the Cleveland Indians and Erie Seawolves. Of all things she enjoyed, her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were all the apple of her eye.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Donna Turbaczewski and son David Jankowski (Melinda), grandchildren Julie Vahey (Bobby) and Russell Turbaczewski (Kristen), great-grandchildren Benjamin Vahey, Lucy Vahey, Charley Turbaczewski, Ryann Turbaczewski, and brother-in-law Edward Czernak.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Holy Family Church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and are invited to the Funeral Mass there at 11 a.m. The Kloecker-Razanauskas Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
