Brett Ciccone Obituary

Brett Gerringer Ciccone
Fayetteville—Brett Gerringer Ciccone, 40, of Fayetteville passed away at his home on March 17, 2021 with his beloved family by his side.
Upon graduating from Terry Sanford High School in 1999, Brett furthered his studies at East Carolina University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. For the past 7 years, he has worked in the family business, Ciccone Properties as commercial property manager.
An outdoorsman at heart, Brett thoroughly enjoyed any activity that allowed him to be outside, especially fishing. Fresh water or salt, Brett was open-minded about both, and he exuded a patience and willingness to find the perfect fish from an early age. Brett also loved playing tennis at Highland Country Club, an activity he most enjoyed when sharing the court with his wife, Serriah.
Those who know Brett well will remember most his genuine kindness and warm welcome of others. Brett was always willing to lend a hand to help someone else, and he rarely disagreed with a soul. At his core, he lived a life of joy in simple things. Animals provided much happiness to Brett. From Gracie, the Chihuahua, to Stella, the Doberman, and several cats over the years, too, Brett treasured time with his pets. This is a trait Brett shared well with his daughter. Most importantly, Brett's greatest role was that of Elizabeth's dad. From their bedtime stories because "he is the best reader" to his silliness in playing whatever a little girl wishes, Brett loved being the best daddy to his little girl.
A service celebrating Brett's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00pm. Seating for the service will be limited, and masks will be required. The service will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. The livestream can be viewed by clicking this link: http://www.firstprez.com/live-stream
Brett is survived by his wife, Serriah Womble Ciccone; daughter, Elizabeth Dare Ciccone; parents, Gary and Terry Ciccone; brother, Ryan Ciccone, and wife, Ashlee; sister, Merritt Grimes, and husband, Steven; nephews, Dixon and Beckett Ciccone; niece, Sophia Grimes.
Brett was also deeply adored by his wife's family in Charleston, SC: parents-in-law, David and Trisha Womble; Thomas and Lisa Rehm; Sean and Annie Laurie Gleason; nephews, Thad, Barrett, Rutledge and Leighton Rehm and Aiden Gleason.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FAPS and First Presbyterian Church.

My sincere condolences to Brett's family and friends. I've rented property from Brett for my business for the past few years, until one day Brett notified me of it being sold and the new owners honoring my lease with Brett. And now I hear of his passing. He was always kind to me, understanding, and honest. I even met him several times at his dad's office on Raeford Rd., and I remember it has an awesome view of Fayetteville, and that Brett was so proud of his father's accomplishments.
