I am so sad to hear of Hawk's passing. We had worked together doing Independent Medical Evaluations since 1992, and his advice was instrumental in helping me start my own company back in 2004. Whether it be working with a complex medical issue or doing presentations to insurance carriers, I've never known a more enthusiastic, tireless person always trying to, above all, do the right thing. He treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. He always kept a small notebook in his shirt pocket with notations on how to say "Hello" in as many different languages as he could learn so he could greet everyone he met. Such a great way to break the ice with a patient!
Hawk was a superb pilot. He knew I was fascinated with flying, he encouraged me to learn - and he was the first one I called when I passed my Private Pilot checkride. I met my husband through flying, so to say Hawk had a major hand in changing my life for the better would not be an understatement.
I will so miss our occasional emails catching up about work, travels, and flights.
Blue Skies, Hawk!

In 1979 after a devastating soccer injury I was lucky to have Dr Richard Hawkins re-attach my medial collateral knee ligament that was torn from the bone. With his skill and guidance I was ski racing within 6 months. For 38 years since I have not missed a single day of ski racing or soccer due to this knee. I have not taken this for granted. I have always maintained Hawk saved my athletic life... My sincere condolences.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.
