Sandy Farnsworth Obituary

STARKS, Maine -- Sandy R. Farnsworth, 67, of Starks, died at home on Sunday, June 26, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1938, in Shirley, Mass., the daughter of Arthur and Gladys (Tupper) Robertson.

Mrs. Farnsworth lived a rich and busy life in Shirley. She was best known as a local historian and artist, and taught at her own studio.

In later years, she and her husband, Ray, fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to a log house on scenic acreage in Maine.

Mrs. Farnsworth is survived by her husband of 48 years, Raymond S. Farnsworth, whom she married on Oct. 13, 1956; their three children and their spouses, Lee R. and Pamela (Davis) Farnsworth, Daryl and Linda (Farnsworth) Nicolet, and Mark and Laurie (Farnsworth) Aho; her mother, Gladys (Tupper) Robertson Cook of Massachusetts; her brothers and sister, Gary Robertson of Massachusetts, Douglas Robertson of Alabama, and Sheilia (Robertson) Cournoyer of Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren, Timothy, Abigail, Melanie, and Caleb Farnsworth, Jeremy, Joshua, Hannah, Sari, and Mia Nicolet, and Jonathan, Leah and Ethan Aho.

FARNSWORTH -- On June 26, Sandy R. Farnsworth, 67, of Starks, Maine. A funeral will be celebrated today at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Madison. A private burial service will take place on their homestead at Sterry Hill Farm in Starks. Sandy touched so many lives and her presence will be sorely missed by family and friends.

I had met Sandy one day in Shirley while riding along side her property. She was a very kind person. She did so enjoy seeing the horses go by. I would sometimes ride with a relative of hers. She will be missed by all whom she touched. It was an honor to have met her. Sincerely, Nancy
