Judith D'Innocenzo Obituary

Judith Ann D'Innocenzo, 76, recently of 5 Widberg Lane, Canton, MA passed away peacefully on June 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Judy was born on September 12, 1944, the seventh child to Leotine and Ernest Bilodeau of Leominster, MA. One of nine children, Judy remained exceptionally close throughout her life with her siblings Gloria Aubut, Rita Bilodeau, Marie Claire Rheault, Robert Bilodeau, Richard Bilodeau, Bette Gagnon, Linda Slaybaugh and Carol Hurtibese. After graduating from Leominster High School in 1963, she worked at Leominster Savings Bank as Branch Manager. Judy also worked for many years as a beloved waitress at the Il Camino Restaurant where she made many lifelong friends. Later in life, Judy applied to nursing school, attended Atlantic Union College and earned her nursing degree, enjoying several years as a Registered Nurse at Burbank Hospital, Leominster Hospital and Keystone Rehabilitation where she helped countless patients.

Judy married Louis D'Innocenzo, also of Leominster, in 1977 and became a loving step mother to Donna (D'Innocenzo) Dinsmore of Templeton, Anthony D'Innocenzo who resides in North Carolina, and Julie (D'Innocenzo) Jennings of Leominster. Judy and Louis together have a daughter Katherine (D'Innocenzo) O'Neill of Canton.

Judy provided an infectious smile and a wonderful sense of humor to all she encountered. In addition to her role of supportive wife and mother, Judy was frequently referred to as "the life of the party". When grandchildren came into her life, Judy found a new sense of purpose and dedicated herself to spending as much time with them as possible.

Judy loved to cook Sunday pasta dinners for her family and was always quick to offer sweet treats – or a dry martini – to partygoers. Her annual Christmas Eve parties will be remembered fondly for plenty of loud singing, dancing and family bonding.

Judy was passionate about living her life to the fullest, advocating for the underdog and serving those in need. When she wasn't working or spending time with her family, she could be found with her friends playing cards or winning at Bingo. She frequently enjoyed vacationing with her husband in Las Vegas, Florida and Maine. Judy loved rooting for the Red Sox and was an avid fan of thriller movies. Her enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed by us all.

Judy is survived by her husband Louis, her daughter Katherine and her husband Jeff O'Neill, her stepson and his wife Anthony and Nikki D'Innocenzo, her step daughter and her husband Donna and Mike Dinsmore, and her step daughter Julie Jennings. She is also survived by her sisters, Rita Bilodeau, Marie Claire Rheault, Bette Gagnon and Linda Slaybaugh, her brother Richard Bilodeau, her sister-in-law and friend, Maureen Bilodeau, and several beloved nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her grandchildren including Allison Smick, Brianna Jennings, Troy Dinsmore, Taylor Spears, Charlotte O'Neill, Cameron O'Neill, Jayden Johnson and Chase O'Neill. She was also a great-grandmother to Nora Smick, Paxton Savard and the newest addition to her family, Hudson Dinsmore.

Judy is also survived by her sister-in laws, Rita Gardner and Eva D'Onforo and her brother-in-law Michael D'Innocenzo and their respective families. In her later years she grew very close to her son-in law's family and spent many holidays and family events with the O'Neills of Leominster and their extended family.

The family asks to omit flowers and instead, tributes can be made to the newly formed Judy's Angels Scholarship fund. The fund has been established to help a need-based nursing student achieve their dreams of becoming a nurse – just as Judy did. Please give at https://gofund.me/ca6ba535

Lou/Katherine and extended family- I am saddened to read of Judy's passing today. Judy was a good friend, former room mate, and a "horror movie" and casino partner whom I enjoyed spending time with. I admired her for her strong moral/ethical beliefs. She wasn't influenced by others and stood her ground. Judy stood up for her friends - she had their back. I regret not reconnecting with her in recent years after she moved away. Please know that I am thinking of each of you at this difficult time as I send my condolences and love. I hope there is gambling in heaven - she will be ready martini iin hand!
