There are so many days my heart reaches back to what I was able to learn & 'absorb' from one of my Father's in the faith...Pastor Paino. First acquainted @ Bethesda. Later, years as as a missionary, was involved in numerous "Congress on World Missions". His life lessons for living the victorious faith life, live on in we who were blessed to have him in our lives.

Bishop Paino was one of my spiritual Father's in the faith. He'll be forever loved and will look forward to seeing him again one day. It was through Bethesda I first became acquainted with him. Later, as a missionary to Romania was part of CTWC mission conferences. His wise council and advice over the years is tribute to his legacy as a true champion for Jesus Christ.

Thinking today of a dear man in my spiritual walk- a spiritual father one might say. And yesterday, his lovely wife Mary- my spiritual mother- joined him in Glory. What a reunion and homecoming it must be! I was blessed to get to know the Painos through church as well as Christian Training Center. I am the person I am today because of the Paino family. Always loved, never forgotten.

Bishop Paino married my wife Becky and me in November of 1987 in the Chapel at Calvary Temple. We both received a solid foundation in our Christian faith through his sermons and teaching. We will always remember him with great fondness and love for our association with him and the ministry. I am now Elder & Lay Ministries Coordinator at Three Rivers Worship Center and I thank Bishop Paino and God for my training.

I recently attended and sang at a funeral that Pastor Paul C. Paino officiated and Mary Paino attended. It caused me to look for Bishop Paino's obituary, now that I use a computer. So though Bishop Paino has been gone for some time, I would like to remember him for being a wonderful Pastor to our family. He was always an encourager to Ken and I in our music ministry. He came to me one day and handed me a piece of paper. He said,"I wrote this chorus, and I want you to come up with verses and music to go with them.I was dumbfounded!...I am sad to say that I did not do this before he died, but did it after;and sang it at the memorial service done at the completion of a library made in his honor at Carroll Road Christian Church. The words I wrote had to do with things I knew about his life. He didn't know, but I would love to write an awesome song for God one day.He also married Ken and I and prayed over our children at their dedication. His vision was inspiring, and we always felt his love, as our shepherd. I will never forget this awesome man of God. "This world was not his home. He was just passing through",and what a pass it was!!

I stumbled onto this page as I was looking for who might have been ahead of Paul E. in the stream of God's glory, showing him the way. I'll give credit to his parents whose names I found in his obituary. I am down stream a ways just behind Bill Strayer. I wanted the info to use in a message this Father's Day regarding our being like Jesus as everlasting fathers. The stream that flows through us while we are here continues eternally long after we cease being fathers in the temporal realm. It's quite amazing to look back. It was stirring to see many familiar names of those who have benefitted and become benefactors of God's goodness and glory to others as a result of Paul E. Paino's service to his Lord. I'm sure he is missed still but what God has done through him lives on.

To the Paino Family,
Bishop Paino dedicated me to God in 1964 for my parents, Floyd and Pat Baker. I still have that dedication certificate in my scrapbook. His ministry was vast and far-reaching. I know the angels in heaven rejoiced at his homecoming. I'm sure he is still shaking hands with all those whose lives he affected who have gone on before him. We have the great assurance that we will all meet again one day. May God richly bless you and keep you in His love and care.

Dear Mrs.Paino,Paul Craig, Phil & family,
How does one express the gratitude for a man that touched so many lives? My mom, my dad and sisters, brothers and myself... we found the Lord at Calvary Temple and the teaching we received there... I have never heard another that could teach like Pastor Paino! Though my children have never met Pastor Paino they are being blessed by what my husband and I have received.
I will always remember how he glowed with the love of Jesus. He has been such a big part of the Rietdorfs lives. I will be forever grateful for all he has done for my family. It is so far reaching. Our childrens children will be blessed because of him. I know my mom,Stephanie, and my Aunt Mary ran up to Pastor and gave him a great big hug when he entered those pearly gates.
Love you all!

I didn't know the Bishop as well as some, but he made an impact in my life as well. I first got to get "get up close and personal" at Oakhill. From then on it was much easier for me to talk to him. He taught me that pastors are people too,and just like us they make mistakes too. We love you Bishop and we will miss you. But now your at home, so be on the look-out for the rest of us we'll be there eventually. To the rest of the family your in our prayers and our thoughts during the homegoing of a great man of GOD.

Dear Mrs. Paino, Paul Craig, Phil, and family:
We would like to express from the depth of our hearts our love and admiration for Pastor Paino. He will always be known as a man of Grace, Mercy and a teacher of God’s word. He was our spiritual father and a man that could truly be identified as awesome.
We have learned so much from this Man of God, now if we can carry-on with his teachings of showing grace, mercy and God’s love to all that we come into contact with. May God comfort you and bless you in the coming days, give you a peace that only our Heavenly Father can bestow upon you.

On behalf of my family we would like for the Paino family to know that we will keep you in our prayers durring this difficult time. Bishop Paino taught me about Gods love his grace and compassion for the lost. Stephanie and I want to express our thoughts and prayers of comfort for the loss all of you are experiencing at this time. We wish we could come up with the right words to express how great a man the Bishop was in our life and family. I am not much of a word smith and even if I was words would still fall short of the impact of his life. I hope that in some way my life is a reflection of appreciation for an investment that will continue to honor his life. We love you all

Sister Paino, Paul Craig, Phil and family,
Please accept our deepest sympathies and sincerest love at this very emotional time. Bishop Paino has been far more than a spiritual leader and friend. He has provided an example of what a leader should be for my entire life. As a child, my parents always spoke of him as a man of integrity and wisdom. After attending his parent’s church in Indianapolis, they felt their association with him, even in the 40’s and early 50’s, had shown him to be one who would have a positive and lasting effect on the Kingdom. It has been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to learn from him and be mentored by his leadership style and spiritual example. He will be missed, but our loss is his triumph, as he now rejoices with the Savior whose name he so faithfully proclaimed. May God’s peace and grace overshadow your lives and comfort your spirit and if I can ever be of assistance in any way, please let me know.

Dear Paino Family,
A truly GREAT MAN has departed from this earth. Though my contacts with Bishop numbered only a dozen or so, each one was ALWAYS uplifting and inspiring. You were always treated with utmost regard and considered significant, even when you were a "small fish" compared to Bishop. Bishop's wisdom and UNWAVERING strength through difficult times will forever be an inspiration to us who are a part of the current generation of ministers. We will endeavor to conduct ourselves in a manner that shows honor to the example Dr. Paino set for us. We can truly say that it was our HIGHEST PRIVILEGE to have known Brother Paino. We commit ourselves to continue our prayer for you, the Paino family, and the Fellowship of CMI.

Mary, Paul Craig and Phil,
Bishop Paino was my spiritual father. He saw something in me that no one else could see (including me). He was often misunderstood because he was ahead of his time. Things he introduced in ministry are now common place in churches. I have never known a man with more integrity, character, or commitment to ministry than he. Now we must all continue in the footsteps he set before us.

Beloved Paino Family:
Words fail to express what is in everyone's heart toward an enormous figure as our Bishop, Dr. Paul E. Paino. Had God said to me 23 years ago, "You pick the man you wish to serve under for the next 23 years and I will see it happens." My choice would have ONLY been my Bishop and mentor, Paul Paino. Carol and I appreciate the special relationship we have had with him AND each of his wonderful family members! And, Mary, there is no sweeter lady in the Kingdom of God than you. We will do WHATEVER you need us to do! Our love, Dennis and Carol.

Dr. Paino was more than just a great man, he was a spiritual father. He introduced me to Jesus Christ in 1967 and mentored me into ministry. Throughout the years he has always been there to offer counsel. I have been the recipient of grace from this man of God on many occasions. I know that he is enjoying the manifest presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His rewards will be many in heaven, although he faced many difficulties in this life, he continued on in the vision the Lord gave him and that was to bring the Gospel message to men and women around the globe. My thoughts go out to his wife, Mary Paino and his two sons, Dr. Paul Craig Paino and Rev. Phil Paino as well as his grandchildren; Anthony, Andrew, Maggee, Cassie and Paul Avram.

"If I can ever serve you in any way..." These words were written to me by Pastor Paino in a letter in 1983, but they were words he lived by every day of his life as he dealt with people. He was and is a genuine servant of Christ. God's blessings on Mary and Paul Craig and Phil at this time and always!

Pastor Paino's work will continue on through the many lives that he touched throughout the years. I remember as a little girl in the middle of a major snow storm, my mother was determined to get us to church that Sunday night. When we arrived, there were only a few people who actually ventured out, but did we have church! Now Pastor Paino is leading church and singing "Blessed Assurance" with the choir. Our loss, heaven's gain. Just know that you and your church family have a world full of people who are praying God's grace and strength for you. Thank you.

Dear Sister Mary, Paul Craig and Phil:
Just want to share with you that if not for Bishop Paul E. Paino, I would be dead or in prison. When I started attending church back on North Clinton Street, I didn't even believe there was a God.
How all of that changed, and only one person on this earth to thank for it. Paul E. Paino.
When I was on the road to destruction, God miraculously placed him in my life to show me that Jesus is truly real.
How blessed you all are to have had him in your lives, his wisdom, his love for His saviour.
May He continue to be with you. I pray His mighty hand on you to endure this difficult time.
In Jesus' love,

God's blessing to you Mary, Paul and Phil and your families. We love you and keep you all in our daily prayers. We learned about God's Grace and the power of God's Word from Pastor's teaching.
Our first visit to Clinton Calvary Temple, years ago, Pastor taught on Heaven. We were hungry, dried up from years of "going to church". That night, on the last row of a full balcony,we felt as if we had recived fresh bread and fresh breath. We never looked back to stale teaching. He was truly God's servant. He laid hands on us for healing and for service, may we never fail to share these gift's with others. To truly honor Pastor, and his legacy, may each of those he discipled continue to offer fresh bread and prayers for healing to others. We are so thankful for Pastor's life and ministry, and that we had the priviledge of being shepherded by him.

Mary, Paul Craig, Phillip & Family;
It is with a heavy heart but also with rejoicing that I write this. My Pastor, (He still is) is singing with the angels and rejoicing with the Saints in Heaven.

Dr. Paino will always have the most special place in my heart. He and Phil, Paul Craig and Mrs. Paino ALL accepted me and ministered to me at the very lowest time of my life. For that I will always be grateful. I'll never forget the time that Dr. Paino took me into his office and said, "Greg, if you ever need anything....materially or spiritually...you come to me...not my elders and deacons...you come to me." He made everyone feel special as he did me.
I truly love you, Paino family. I pray that God gives you strength.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of the Paino family. I was so sad to hear of Pastor Paino's passing. I was really young when I attented Calvary Temple. But the memories still live on over twenty years later. I remember as a child sitting in the pue listening to Pastor preaching. My sister Angie and I would go to a different church on the weekend we were at our Dad's and I remember slowly every service falling asleep. But when we were with my mom we went to Calvary Temple. Pastor Paino's ministry, always kept me interested and often in tears as I grew up. As he often sang "Blessd Assurance, Jesus is mine, oh what a fore taste of glory devine. This is still my favorite gospel song. I can picture him standing up at the podium, singing it. No one could sing that song like he could.
You could never forget his smile, it could brighten the whole church, when he walked in the Sancturary.
Their are certain people in our lives that we will always have a special place in our hearts for and Pastor Paino will have a place in mine. You may not always see them, but they are never forgotten and you usually end up meeting with them someday. I have faith that someday I will see Pastor again when I walk to the gates of HEAVEN.
My Thoughts and prayers are with the Paino Family!!!

Sister Paino, PC, Phil and family;
So many thoughts and so many memories. I played the organ for Pastor for nearly 10 years. Sunday services, Saturday night prayer meetings, wrote choir music, worked on productions, played for conferences AND at camp. But, I will always think of Pastor whenever I play "Blessed Assurance" for my church here in Sacramento. It has become one of our favorites at Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
I have fond memories of Pastor breaking into song during a sermon and smiling at me when I would find his key and be right there with him within just a few bars. I learned MANY of the old standards of the faith in that very manner.
I could go on and on, and in my mind I will relive each smile each time I remember Pastor. I send you my deepest sympathy, but know that we do not mourn as those who have no hope. I know Pastor is "Walkin Up The King's Highway"!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Mary, Paul Craig, and Phil:
A great man has entered into his well-deserved rest. How I love all of you. I will never forget our Saturday night prayer meetings (especially when the Lord directed me not to miss Sat. p.m prayer and I had my singing telegram outfit under my "regular" clothes so I could later go right to work!) and Bishop's resouding voice as he led us in prayer. May God comfort Bishop Paino's family during this time of sorrow. I grew up in the Church during the 70's, and was inspired by musicians such as Honeytree and others who performed at the Adam's Apple. At the same time, I was a young student at Calvary Christian School, where Rev. C was Principal. These two pastors continue to make an impression on my life's journey because of their faithfulness to the Lord's work, and I thank God for Bishop Paino's leadership in their training!!

My mom called this afternoon and advised me of Pastor Paino’s passing. My initial reaction was one of shock, disbelief, and intense sorrow; instantly followed by countless recollections of growing up.
From 2nd grade at Calvary Christian School, Music Machine, High – Tops, Ensembles, to going on tour with the youth group, and I will by no means fail to remember church camp.
My choices throughout my teen years, however, can simply be considered brainless.
Pastor Paino counseled me on many occasions. This is dreadfully hard...
I recall Pastor Paino not demeaning me or lecturing me on my unsightly decisions-though he did not disregard it by any means- instead, I remember him holding my hand while I cried, praying for me, and providing comfort for reasons I behaved the way I did.
I looked forward to seeing him in church. Every time I passed him in the hallway, his eyes became wide- similar to a kid a Christmas. His smile was large, big, and bright; you could see every tooth! I knew what was coming next, the biggest bear hug ever! This was followed by a gentle whisper, “I’m glad to see ya.” This continued to present day.
Pastor Paino and Mrs. Paino continued to welcome me home. I may not come back for 5 years, but they act like I never left.
I actually am trying to be brief when signing this book, but it is tough when a part of my family has moved on.
Pastor Paino saw more to me than meets the human eye. Despite my negative behavior, and despite my negative talent – or some may view as manipulative behavior- this wise man saw past the anger, resentment, and confusion of present day life. He viewed me as special and important.
Through his teachings, the Holy Spirit is recognized and heard in my life LOUDLY! It is clear when I make a bad decisions, or I am about to make a bad decision; it is abundantly clear!
Finally, one last recollection of memories that is the most memorable of them all...
Pastor Paino, you have always powerfully stated, “I cannot wait until I walk through the gates of heaven, and I stand next to my heavenly father.”
This was always followed by a,” WHEWWWW.” “CAN I HEAR AN AMEN?” Pastor Paino, your day has arrived. You sit next to your heavenly father. When my day comes, I pray you are the one who greets me.
Pastor Paino, I pray I hear those words again, "I’m glad to see ya.”
God bless the Paino family; your loss is largely felt here in Georgia.

Mary, Paul Craig, Phil and family,
We are grateful for the 22 years of having Bishop as our spiritual father. I know he is singing "Blessed Assurance" with the angels. May God strengthen you in the days ahead.

Mary, Paul Craig, & Phil,
Deepest sympathy in Dr. Pano's homecoming. I remember what a heart he had for souls. At one time he sent me his complete sunday school course free of charge. He lead many men and women through perilous times...and I followed whole heartedly.
We will miss him
Sincerely;
The Dr. W.H. Penewit Family

To the Paino Family:
Home at last! May the joy of knowing Bishop is with the Lord, give you comfort and peace.
I will always treasure the years I spent under the ministry of Paul E. Paino. My life and so many others are forever changed because of his ministry. I cherish all my memories of my time spent in Ft. Wayne at Calvary Temple. Thank you Bishop for your love and spiritual guidance.

I count it a priviledge to have heard Bishop Paino, a true man of God, preach His word in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit! My husband, Les, a fellow minister of the Gospel, always looked forward to hearing Bishop Paino preach whenever we visited Ft. Wayne. He always said, "He's my kind of preacher!" (He was also my kind of preacher!) I'm sure they are both rejoicing in Heaven together in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! Having gone through the loss of my husband just 15 1/2 months ago, I know first hand the loss Mary is feeling at this time. My deepest sympathy and love go to Mary, Pastor Paul, Pastor Phil and the rest of the family. May the Lord comfort you and give you His perfect peace! I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Mary, Paul Craig, & Phil,
Our hearts were saddened this Sunday, Sept. 4th of Papa Paino's going home to glory. Papa Paino in more ways than you'll ever realize was our strength in many situations and, someone we could count on for prayer and support through every situtation that we faced. We know that he is with Christ and singing with the angels "Blessed Assurance."
We loved him so very much, he was like a spiritual father, a leader and lived every word that he preached!
We love you guys and will always be there for you just as your dad was there for us. He will always be our "Papa Paino" to us!

I first started going to Calvary Temple when it was located on N. Clinton St I recall that I was just a small boy of nearly 3. Since then, my life has been enriched with Dr. Paino's teachings, many fond summers at Camp Calvary and have cultivated many wonderful friends over the years. The Paino's have been friends of my family for many years. In fact, my mom Betty speaks fondly of many lunches she shared with Mary Paino. I know she is taking Dr. Paino's passing very hard. None of us know another man's heart, but I can say with certainty the Dr. Paino is in the company of his Saviour, Jesus Christ. I can also say with certainty that it was Dr. Paino's love, compasion, and love of Christ, and the ministry that influenced me beyond a life of terrible sin. Many of the teachings that I'd heard as a young man that always stayed with me when I had made some poor choices and lived in sin. The world has lost a great Christian man and I hope his family is able to find peace through his passing. They will all be in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Mark, Jodi and Emily Brayton

Sister Mary, Pastor Paul, Pastor Phil and the whole family:
You are all in my prayers right now. I know that Bishop is so happy to be with his Heavenly Father right now but sad to be away from all of you. I know it is harder for the whole family to loose him just as it is so hard for all of us in the Church family.
We can all be strong together, mourning the loss but also celebrating in his total healing and deliverance now.
I pray God's strength for each of you - please know that we all Love each of you so very much and will stand with in all that God has for us in the future days.
May his blessings and his peace and comfort be with each of you in the future days.
I Love you in the Lord.
