RITA CURTIS Obituary

RITA MARIE CURTIS, 86, of Rome City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. She resided at Sylvan Lake for 35 years, coming from Fort Wayne. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Arizona. Rita retired from HWI in New Haven, and was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She was born June 17, 1929, in Fort Wayne a daughter of Jerome and Loretta (Weigand) Klingenberger. On Nov. 25, 1950, in Fort Wayne she married her childhood sweetheart Richard Wayne "Dick" Curtis. He survives at Summit City Nursing in Fort Wayne. Rita always lovingly supported her five daughters, Kathryn (Lee) Cochard of Auburn, Patricia (Dennis) Baumgartner of Fort Wayne, Jacqueline (Gail) Cole of Muskegon, Mich., Lisa Robertson of Copley, Ohio and JoAnn Curtis of Indianapolis; also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Heiny; her twin brother, Robert Klingenberger; a son-in-law, Michael Robertson; and a granddaughter, Judith Cochard. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials are mass offerings, St. Gaspar Catholic Church, or Heartland Hospice.
