STEVEN WYSS

STEVEN WYSS, 65, of Smithville, Tenn., formerly of Paulding, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Born Aug. 27, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of John and M. Gertrude (Hake) Wyss. He married Carla Ann Hanenkratt; she survives. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Steve began his career at the Grizzly Plant in Paulding and was transferred to Smithville in 1979. After 43 years, he retired as Test Services Manager. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Smithville, and National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors. He is survived by his wife, Carla Ann Wyss of Smithville; two children, John Paul Wyss of Smithville and Stephanie (Graham Porter) Wyss of Littleton, Colo.; mother, M. Gertrude Wyss of Fort Wayne; and siblings, Jeanne Wyss of South Bend, Ind., Beverly Courtney of Tampa, Fla., Gregory Wyss of Corunna, Ind., Christine Giant of Fort Wayne, Paul Wyss of Yoder, Ind., and Lisa Werling and Ann Wyss, both of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father, John, in 1997. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Paulding. Burial will follow service in St. Paul Cemetery.
