Working with Bill and my late husband, UNH architectural historian David Andrew, to design our Madbury home, Gnawwood, was one of the happiest times of David's and my life together. In fact, it wasn't work at all: more of a celebration of productive creativity and inspiration. Since David's passing, our home--with so many of Bill's brilliant touches--continues both a joy and a comfort for me. The pleasure guests take in visiting Gnawwood will remain a fitting memorial to both these bon vivants, a gift of delightful surrounding that could not have happened without Bill. May his legacy be a comfort to all the many who will continue to miss--and celebrate--him.

My memories of Bill span 50 years of casual and professional friendship, including collaboration on construction and/or rehabilation of several multi unit housing projects in Dover and Rochester, design of my wife's Montesorri pre school and his Presidency of the Farm Museum as we were establishing the site in Milton, NH.
My wife Amy and I express deep sadness at Bill's passing and wish to extend our condolences to his family, especially Jill, Emily and Jesse. I feel a little of my life experience fading.
