Fred, I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Carol a few times (and spoke with her by phone) but she was a really great person.

I just heard last night about Carol's passing; what a terrible shock to all this must have been. She was always full of life and joy, welcoming everyone with a smile and making each feel truly special. She and Fred were so kind and supportive to me when I first began playing music for live audiences, and i have always looked forward to playing at Elk Run or visiting for the chance to catch up with them. Carol was a darling, sweet girl and I will miss her. My most sincere sympathy goes out to Fred and the family and I will keep them in my prayers.

I recently moved to the Frederick area and was soon introduced to Carol, Fred, and the family at Elk Run. With a sincere interest in wine making, I was quick to inquire about their operation and their success in producing some of Maryland's best wines. She gave me tours of the lab and tremendous insight....always friendly, welcoming, and quick to greet with a smile. I was so sorry to learn of her passing and the loss of a new friend. My heartfelt condolences go out to her husband and family. Her wonderful soul will not soon be forgotten.

Carol was the first call I made when contemplating my foray into this industry. She was an inspiration and encouragement to everyone who worked with her, but especially to women trying to find their place here.
.
Rest in Peace, Beautiful Carol.
