Eldon Hall Obituary

Mr. Eldon Hall, 92, of Frederick, MD passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Hildegard Hall for 68 years.

Born December 29, 1919 in Tiffin, OH he was the son of the late William and Anna Fruth Hall.

Mr. Hall received his BS in Science fromHeidelberg College in Tiffin, OH, an Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and his Honorary Doctorate, also from Heidelberg College. Eldon worked as a Rocket Scientist/Aeronautical Engineer for NASA for 31 years. He was very instrumental in enabling the United States to put the first man on the moon. Eldon was part of the Apollo Mission and also helped launch the Saturn, Gemini and Lunar Module. Following his retirement from NASA he worked for GE for 13 years in Schenectady, NY. Eldon was a blessed husband and wonderful father.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his twelve children; Anna Marie Spargo, Mark Hall, Barbara Tredway, William Hall, Lorita Nicholson, Beatrice Towns, Teresa Saunders, Daniel Hall, John Hall, Alan Hall, Andrew Hall and Joseph Hall; 43 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

The family will receivefriends at St. Joseph-on- Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 9-10 AM where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM. Rev. Lawrence K. Frazier will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Gabriel Cemetery, Potomac, MD.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick, MD 21703 or Frederick Memorial Hospital, Office of Development 400 W. 7th St., Frederick, MD 21701.
