Michelle, I'm taking care of Bart's name plaque that you had above his stable for you. It's hanging in my office so you are close in my heart every day. I miss by best-friend. I'll come see you in March when I'm in Clovis.

Mom, it's already been just over a month since you left us. It's gone by so fast yet feels like forever since I've seen you. The most overwhelming part of this so far is thinking how I have the rest of my life to live without ever seeing or hearing or being able to talk to you again. It's too long to go without my mom. You were everything! I know there was a part of you that had been ready to leave this earth for some time. The physical pain you lived with kept you from so much. I'm so sorry you were dealt that card. I appreciate all the times you powered through and put a smile on your face for us. It must've been so hard. I hope there were times I made you proud. I hope I brought you joy and laughter. I know I brought you some worry and frustration and for that I'm sorry. I cherish the special times we had together. When just you and I went to the dog show out of town, when we went to Las Vegas, when you, Zoe and I went to San Francisco in search of my perfect wedding dress and veil, when dad, you and I went to Monterey.....all great memories that I'm so thankful I have! How I wish you were still here to go on new adventures. My kids miss you, especially Zoe. Thank you so much for helping me take care of her when she was little. Because of you I was able to go to school and not worry about my little girl. I knew she was in the best, most capable hands. Because of you, Nana, Zoe has the best memories of going to the barn, playing with and taking care of the horses, horse camp, taking long walks through the eucalyptus and don't forget, Bug Hunts!! She misses you so much and really wanted you to be here for when she has her own baby one day....I think your energy and spirit will be with her always, with all of us. Do you remember, as you were in your last hours of life, I told you if there is a way for your energy or spirit to come back to visit me, I wanted you to try to do it.....I'm waiting for you. I imagine you must be busy when you first leave this world and get to where it is we go.....but once you've gotten settled and if it's possible, please visit me. I can't possibly wait until I too leave this earth to see you or hear from you again! I love you mama! So much. I miss you mama! My heart hurts without you.

This is my second message. My first message was mistakenly ended too soon In my frustration I could hear Michelle laugh and feel her comforting arm around me I saw that sparkle in her eyes and she softly said "That's okay try again." Then it hit me. that's it! Of all Mitsi's wonderful qualities it was her ability to make us/ me feel at ease. A sense of calmness and love, her encouragement, That's what I'll miss. She had such an insight into people and her acceptance of us, as we are. I'll miss that too, and so much more that was her.. Sending loving thoughts and prayers to Ron, Heather, Hilary,Caitlin and Dianne and all the family. Love Cousin Mia

I was blessed to work with Michelle at Clovis Community Hospital in the Labor and delivery unit. Her sense of humor truly made a tough shift much easier to get through!! Always appreciated her willingness to share her knowledge without making you feel intimidated Also was blessed to work with 2 of her daughters on the unit!! My prayers continue for the family during this difficult journey With love, Peggy

My heart goes out to Ron and the girls. My heart is broken. I loved Michele, her stories, her kindness, and her sense of humor. She gave me stories to tell and other things I share to this day. I'm glad she and Bart will be together again. I've continued to watch over CR but feel he is truly in excellent hands. May she finally fine peace and rest.

I was so lucky to have Michelle as my preceptor when I started working at Clovis Community Hospital in 1990! She was brilliant, compassionate, and an expert nurse. I learned so much from her as a nurse and as a person. She had a wicked sense of humor and was always up for some fun!! I have also fallen in love with her daughters who share her energy and spark. They are her wonderful legacy. Wishing all of you peace and love during this sad time.

Michelle, I was so sorry to hear about your passing. You were such a happy and vibrant personality at the barn. I will miss you and I know Chris will too. May your family be comforted by how many lives you touched.

Michelle was one of the smartest, funniest people I have ever known. She was loved by staff and patients alike. She could entertain her fellow workers, soothe her patients and charm the doctors into doing whatever she wanted. She was so smart and had the uncanny ability to help a fellow nurse without making that person feel intimidated. She could always make me laugh. She will be missed.

Our little Mitsi, aka Mitchell, was a little Angel sent to us 65 years ago. I prayed to have a little sister and was in heaven when she came to us. She has always been a part of me, whether here or far; in good times and bad; in every moment of every day. She brought such Joy, and Cheer, and Fun and Laughter to everyone around her and was especially talented in problem solving. She had a way of always having the greatest solutions for those who came with big or little problems, day or night, with her gentle advise.......and the line was long and frequent. She gave the best help to others and let her needs wait. I know we all will miss that cheery happy face and laugh, that can't be replaced, but part of it is still among us in the 3 beautiful girls she graced us with. Heather, Hilary and Caitlin, are the biggest blessings that Mitsi has given the world and keeps her heart beating and love flowing among us all. Mitsi is part of me forever and i can not express how heart broken I am. Mitsis' dreams live on in her girls and grand babies and love she has given us all. Love, Big sister Dianne

Michelle's spark was bigger than life! Her generosity was endless. She could make me laugh like no one else could. Michelle had often been the "Lucy" to my "Ethel". I will never have another friend like her. Now, the shining Light that is Michelle Wheeler will shine down on us all from the heavens. Though I will continue to miss her everyday, I am grateful she is no longer in pain. Until we meet again, My Friend.
Wheeler Family, I am so, so sorry for your loss.

A ray of sunshine was my friend
Too soon fading in the end
Now able to rise above
I'll always remember her kindest of love

Michelle and I met in a class for Native American studies at Fresno State. We then went on to work together birthing babies. I have fondly remembered the night shifts we shared. She also shared two of her beautiful daughters with our work place and I love them as family. Heather, Hilary and Caitlin and Ron I know there is a Michelle size whole in your hearts. May the love of Christ fill the void and comfort you.
