Gaffney - Claude Dean Nance, 81, of 139 Eastview Drive, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Gaffney Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Norma Wilson Nance and the son of the late Claude Nance and Illa Parker Nance. Mr. Nance retired from Hamrick Mills and was a member of Christian Heights Baptist Church, where he previously served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and occasionally gave children's messages.
Mr. Nance is survived by one son, Loyd Nance and Renee' of Gaffney; one daughter, Pamela Walker and husband, Rev. Frank Walker of Chesnee; three grandchildren, Makaylia Nance (Antonio), Aleighsha Turner (Dustin), and Alayna Nance, and four greatgrandchildren, Kolton Turner, Braylen Turner, Journey Snoddy, and Adrianna Martin; two nieces, Wanda "Pokey" Upchurch and Ann Stroupe (Walter); and one nephew, Michael Crowe.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Dean was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Nance, and one brother, Robert Nance.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 30th, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with Dr. Gary Grogan officiating. The family requests that social distancing be practiced and masks be worn.
