Bob was a dedicated member of the Operations and Foundation Boards of Directors for over 20 years with the Girls Club of Alachua County, now known as Girls Place, a not for profit corporation and United Way agency. He was our direct liaison with the Sunrise Rotary Club and the Rotary Foundation. Through his efforts, all of the playground equipment, the softball field lights and an pavilion that served as an outdoor classroom and picnic area. He was very active in the annual Barbeque Lunch Delivery fundraiser. Many young girls will continue to benefit from his leadership with those Rotary projects. Bob was a reliable and dedicated board member and a personal friend. I will miss him.

I am a surveyor from the Gainesville area who just recently started my own company, and began doing boundary surveys in the area. A number of months ago I tracked Mr. Wigglesworth down, and it was such an honor to speak with him over the phone. We ended up talking for over an hour, and I loved hearing his war stories. While our careers barely intersected, I felt an immediate connection and I sincerely appreciate his willingness to mentor me.
He certainly left his mark in Alachua County, as there are countless plats recorded in official records bearing his signature.
He will be missed by many many surveyors in the area.

I met Bob early in my surveying career (2002-2004ish) when I visited his office to ask questions about a particularly tough survey. As I was a new UF Geomatics grad talking to the County Surveyor, I found him to be patient and understanding. I don't think I knew he was an instructor at UF which would explain why he had the aura of a mentor. I'm sad to hear of his passing, he worked at George F. Young, Inc. in Gainesville after their merger with M.K. Flowers prior to working at the County. (I now work at George F. Young, Inc. in St. Pete after the merger of my firm) Bob was the 24th President of the (now) Florida Surveying and Mapping Society in 1979. He had a distinguished career, rest in peace sir.

Robert was my first cousin and someone that I always looked up to. I wish now I had been able to see him before his passing to let him know just how much I admired him when I was growing up. He will truly be missed.

Sincere sympathy to the family of Bob Wigglesworth. He was my UF professor for an elective surveying course, then some years later I worked with him at Alachua County. He was a brilliant and positive person who contributed much to our community. May he rest in peace following a life well-lived.

Dear Susan and Robin. I am very saddened to hear of the passing of your Dad. Our families have been friends for a long time and I have fond memories of cookouts and pool parties at your home. Your parents were always gracious hosts. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your families.

Really saddened today to find he has left us. I've known him since around 1974 when I first moved here and worked with real estate attorneys; and still working this last year. Saw him earlier this year and he seemed so vital and young for his years. A really nice gentleman and a pleasure to have known him. My prayers go out to his family and close friends. He will be very much missed. God Bless.

Dear Susan, Robin and family; I am so sorry to read that your Dad had passed. I worked for your Mom and Dad from ‘69 -‘76. They both taught me so much and I thought a lot of both of them. In loving memory of great boss and friend. Brenda Green Strickland and Don
