William Sabol Obituary

William "Bill" J. Sabol, Sr., age 93, of Morrisdale, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his residence.

Born June 19, 1928, in Morrisdale, he was the son of the late George, Sr. and Susan (Perow) Sabol.

On November 15, 1952 at the Polish Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, he wed Carolyn M. (Jeneski) Sabol who preceded him in death on September 19, 2009.

Surviving are his children, Linda Fenush and husband Paul "Sonny", Grassflat; William "Bill" J. Sabol, Jr. and wife Gail, Morrisdale; Brian Sabol and wife Leslie, Sandy Ridge; his grandchildren, Paul Fenush, Erin Swatsworth, Jamie Mahute, Colton Sabol, Hadlie Sabol; his great-grandchildren, Brooke and Nathan Fenush, Tatelynne Swatsworth, Hailey Evans; and his siblings, Jean Lingenfelter, Forest; George "Bo" Sabol, Jr., RR Philipsburg and Nancy Smeal, Pinchy (RR Morrisdale).

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Sabol and sister, Yvonne Fetcenko.

Bill was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale. He had worked for the former Robert Bailey Coal Company, Morrisdale; and retired from the former K&J Coal Company, Lanse. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman, and had a collection of mounted fish from the Bald Eagle Area. He loved hunting and was especially proud of his beautiful rose garden. He enjoyed the West Branch Area High School Football games and was an avid Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers Football Fan. He enjoyed woodworking, polka dancing with his wife and going to the casino's. He enjoyed flying with his friend, Chuck. He was a life member of the Morris Twp. Volunteer Fire Company, Morrisdale.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 6-8:00 pm Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale. Rosary will be recited at 5:45 pm, at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale, with Father Robert J. Horgas as celebrant.

He will be laid to rest in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale.

Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to, Morris Township Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 254, Morrisdale, PA 16858 or the Clearfield County Area on Aging, 600 Cooper Road, Curwensville, PA 16833.

Mr Sabol was a good man, my grand father was Art Shields he was the Superintendent of K&J he would ride me around on the job sometimes I was about 9 yrs old at the time but I always remembered him what a super nice guy rest in peace my pap thought alot of him, Timmi Shuey.
