I've know Paul since 2000 and had the opportunity to work with him on a number of conferences. He was a man with set views, but enjoyable to work with. He was scheduled to a conference on the Russian sociologist Pitirim Sorokin with me in August. I'm not sure what he would have said, but I know it would have been insightful and challenging. I will miss him.
