Paul was a friend, a great scholar, truly a wonderful human being. Condolences to his wife and children. He will be sorely missed. His work will live on for decades

I've know Paul since 2000 and had the opportunity to work with him on a number of conferences. He was a man with set views, but enjoyable to work with. He was scheduled to a conference on the Russian sociologist Pitirim Sorokin with me in August. I'm not sure what he would have said, but I know it would have been insightful and challenging. I will miss him.
