GLOUCESTER — David C. Beardslee, 82, husband of the late Betty A. (James) Beardslee, of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 in the Golden Living Center, Gloucester.
David was born on March 2, 1925, in New Brunswick, N.J., the son of the late John W. and Francis U. (Davis) Beardslee.
He is survived by his sister, Ellen, wife of Roy Mellen of Chelmsford; a daughter, Joan D. Beardslee and her companion Pamela Lentfoehr of Colorado Springs; his son, Stephen J. and his wife Sarah M. Beardslee of West Medford; and a granddaughter, Kayla R. Beardslee of West Medford. He was predeceased by his three brothers, William, John and Frank Beardslee.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Shiva Minyon will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in Stephen Beardslee's residence at 38 Warren St., West Medford. Family and friends are cordially invited. A family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is encouraging charitable contributions be made in his memory to The Essex County Greenbelt Association, 82 Eastern Ave., Essex, MA 01929, or to the David Beardslee Non-Traditional Student Scholarship Fund, Oakland University, University Relations, John Dodge House, Rochester, MI 48309. Arrangements are by the James C. Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester.
