Jack J. Spielberg Naples, FL
Jack J. Spielberg passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012.
Jack was born June 21, 1918 in South Bend, IN, moved to St. Louis at a young age where he experienced the heartbreak of loss of home and father's business during the Depression. After high school graduation he returned to South Bend where he discovered his love of flying, which enabled him to join the Army Air Corps where, at one point, he became the youngest Major in its history. Shortly before the start of WWII he met and married Dorothy I. Henry. After the war, they moved to Grand Rapids, MI where he worked at growing his father's business, Oil Producer's, Inc., until his retirement.
Jack and Dorothy moved to Naples, FL in 1970 where they spent many years fishing the Gulf of Mexico aboard the Delta Dolphin. After 68 years of marriage, Dorothy died in 2009.
Jack is survived by his loving daughter, Barbara Spielberg Keltner; and his adored granddaughter, Christina Keltner. The night before his death he learned of Christina's graduation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy and expressed his extreme joy, love, and pride in her accomplishment.

Barbara & Christina; Please accepted our deepest condolences for your loss. We knew Mr. Spielberg through our father and their years of friendship in the oil business. As children he left a lasting impression as a true gentleman. We have thought of him many times over the years with fond memories. May "Captain" rest in peace and may peace rest in your hearts.
