Amy Gessaman Obituary

HIGHWOOD Amy Jean Stromberg Gessaman, 62, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 16, at her Highwood home.

Visitation is noon-5 p.m. Wednesday at Croxford Funeral Home, 1307 Central Avenue. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Nathanael Lutheran Cemetery near Dagmar, N.D., next to her father.

The oldest of seven children, she was born Nov. 27, 1950, to Clifford and Carol (Walker) Stromberg in Williston, N.D. Amy grew up on the family farm near Dagmar, where she attended a single room schoolhouse and mastered fishing for pigs with spark plugs.

She went on to graduate from MSU-Bozeman in 1973, with a B.S. in microbiology. She married Frank Gessaman in 1972 and was later divorced. Amy was a dedicated and loving mother to her son, Eron, and her daughters, Charity and Jenny. Although she was a single parent, her selfless, driven, and kind-hearted character created a happy and tight-knit family. Her love is never-ending.

Amy worked in various hospital laboratories across Montana, the last being Great Falls Benefis East for 20 years. She faced all the challenges in her life with strength, integrity and faith. Amy was strong and fearless yet gentle and compassionate.

Amy is survived by her mother, Carol Stromberg; her children Eron, Charity and Jenny Gessaman; and her grandchildren, Wade and Chase Heinzman. She is also survived by her siblings, Gary, Neal, Ann and Tammy Stromberg, Cindy Deubner and Gail Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Stromberg.

"Come to me…and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
