George Motquin Obituary

George B. Motquin

Green Bay - George B. Motquin, 64, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 5, 2018, with his family at his side. He was born October 31, 1953, to Wilfred and Flora Mae (Thomas) Motquin. He graduated from East High School. On September 26, 1992, he married Cheryl DeBauche. After owning and operating GJ's Corner Bar in Howard, George was employed at Walmart for over 23 years before retiring. After being introduced to dartball 50 years ago by his father, he carried on the tradition with his sons and nephews. For the past 5 years he was Captain of "Team George", his favorite line being "You suck!" Known to break into spontaneous song and a gift for improvising vocals, George was the life of the party.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Cheryl; two sons, Nick and Doug; a brother, Bill (Judy); three sisters, Diana Lynn (Darel) Tielens, Sue (Steve) Rosek, and Kim (Paul) Baierl; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Joyce DeBauche; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, a special cousin, Sue VanderGeeten; and his canine companion, Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mike; and his pets, Bear, Shadow and Freckles.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. There will be a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 825 N. Webster Ave. with Rev. Michael Scolare. To send online condolences please visit www.prokowall.com.
