I just learned of Kurt's passing in our alumni magazine and am so shocked and sorry for his loss. I learned much working for him; he both challenged and supported me and I have many fond memories of our work together. The world will be a sadder place without his smile and presence. My prayers go out to Kris, Karl and Kate, and the entire family.

To the Kurt Dally family: My deepest sympathies on the passing of your father, Kurt. I knew him for many years when I was growing up, and I have very fond memories of him. I especially remember all of the kick-the-can games that all the kids in the neighborhood played together, often at the Dally family home. I even remember hunting for green apples in neighbors' yards along with Kurt and others, then running away if the neighbors heard us. It was all in good fun. Such a gang of kids we all were together! I shall add your family and Kurt to my prayers. Julie Stiller

To Kay, Karen, and Mrs.Opal Dally: I have never forgotten the Dally family. Your house was like a second home to me. I have far too many good memories of our years together in the neighborhood to list them all here...far, far too many. I remember well the lanky presence of Kurt as we were growing up. He often came bounding up the basement stairs or around the corner of the kitchen to the back door to call me "Toad" and say "ugh, a toad," always in an amusing way. In fact, it was Kurt who coined that nickname for me that others picked up. I always took it in the most friendly and affectionate way from all. To this day, it is a dear memory for me. I even have a ceramic toad sitting in my lighted buffet that I have kept for years and years. I also want to tell your mother that I have lovely memories of her sitting in your living room at a card table putting puzzles together. When I think of puzzles, I always think of her. In fact, for many years, I had my family put puzzles together during my kids' Xmas breaks, and I thought of your mother every time. So thank you Dallys for my childhood nickname, puzzle-making affinity, and sooo many other wonderful memories. You all, including Kurt, live in my memories. Much love, Julie Stiller
