Raymond J. Kabacinski

Green Bay - Raymond J. Kabacinski, 80, of Green Bay, beloved husband of the late Rosemary "Jeanie" (Perrault) Kabacinski, departed this life after a courageous battle with cancer at his home on August 6, 2019 with family at his side.

Ray was born on September 17, 1938 the youngest child of Henry and Lauretta (Weber) Kabacinski.

Growing up in the 50's Ray took a job as a golf caddy at the Oneida Golf & Riding Club, then moved up to Assistant Pro. He has commented those were some of the best days of his life. While working there he received a job offer to come and work for Green Bay Packaging. He accepted that offer and worked there for 38 years, later retiring as a supervisor in 2000. Dad loved hitting the golf course with his family and friends. Despite Ray only having vision in one eye, he became an exceptional pool player and golfer, even though, he would never admit it. He enjoyed shooting pool, loved the sport of golf, but his true passion… was being a father and grandfather. Christmas Eve was a special time for everyone no matter family or not, Ray and Jean always had a gift for all who came. The cottage in Lakewood was also very special in the early days and he loved spending time there.

Later in life he loved watching his granddaughters grow into young women, he was so proud of them. He enjoyed playing cribbage, watching Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show. He also enjoyed movies, such as The Shawshank Redemption, and comedies like My Cousin Vinny, Uncle Buck, and Caddyshack. He was a fan of watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Ray loved dogs and had a great sense of humor. If going out to dinner, the choice would be lobster and steak, along with an old fashioned or two!

Ray donated regularly to charities like St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Shriner's Hospital for Kids. He was the most modest, giving, unselfish man. We could not have asked for a better dad. The family would like to thank everyone for all the cards, phone calls, visits, dinners made, treats dropped off, flowers, kind words, and all the offers of support and assistance. Heartland Hospice, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did. The entire staff and organization excel at what they do, they truly are angels on earth, especially Robin Allen and all everyone did for our dad.

Ray is survived by three children: Terry (Earl) Psenicka, Howard (Laura) Kabacinski, and Bill Kabacinski. He also leaves his beloved granddaughters: Lexi and Zoey Psenicka. Ray leaves sisters-in-law: Rosemary Kabacinski and Clara (Steve) Kolf along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Larry (Val), Donald, Duane (Bunny), Kenneth, Justin (Virginia), Joey Kabacinski, and sisters: Gloria (Jim) Tilly and Carol (Bud) Kuske and a sister-in-law, Judith Thompson and brother-in-law John Perrault.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15th from 5 PM - 7 PM at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A service celebrating his life will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home.
