CEDARVILLE — George Wallace Furay, 90, of Cedarville, passed away Tuesday May 04, 2021 at Wickshire of Fairborn Nursing Home. He was born January 12, 1931 in Cedarville, Ohio to Andrew Jackson "Bud" Furay and Frances Huffman Furay-McMahan. George served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He worked for 22 + years for Reese Farms and 43 years for Yellow Springs Morris Bean as a pattern maker. He was a baseball fan and loved woodworking and gardening. George was married, for 67 years, to his beloved wife, Carolyn Furay, who preceded him in death on February 23, 2019. George is survived by his children: Rhonda Ferguson (Timothy), Gary Furay (Beth); grandchildren: Jason Ferguson (Lisa), Kiann Phillips (Sean); great-grandchildren: Skye, Bryce, Hope Ferguson; Bode and Sloane Phillips; sisters-in-laws: Marilyn Arment, Donna McMahan and several nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Furay; his parents: Andrew Jackson "Bud" and Frances Furay; brother, Larry McMahan; sister, Bonnie (McMahan) Blumenshine. George's family would like to thank the staff of Wickshire of Fairborn Nursing Home and Miami Valley Hospice for their devoted and excellent care they provided to George.
