Maggi Goller Obituary
Greenville
Mary Alice Gribble Goller, "Maggi," 85 of Greenville, SC died Thursday, January 5, 2012.
A native of Clarksburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lyda Findley Gribble. Maggi was a graduate of Washington Irving High School class of 1944 and received her BA from Furman University in 1949. She was a longtime member and communicant at Christ Church Episcopal.
Maggi was preceded in death by her brothers, Jackson, Robert, and Charles Gribble and sister, Nelle Elizabeth Hopkins.
Surviving are her daughter, Sue-Gray Goller, of Chicago, IL; cousin, Emily Ann Summerlin Helms of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews. Maggi also claimed Everett Lo of Somerville, NJ and Deborah, David, Connor, and Griffin Lichtenfelt, all of Greenville, as her 'nother family.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, January 7th at two o'clock in the Arrington Room at Christ Church Episcopal with memorial services celebrating Maggi's life at three o'clock in the adjacent Markley Chapel. The Reverend Bob Chiles and The Reverend Jon Chalmers will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the churchyard. Details for the reception will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Church Episcopal Music Endowment Fund, 10 North Street, Greenville, SC 29601; Furman Music by the Lake Concert Series, Office of Development, Furman University, 3300 Poinsett Hwy., Greenville, SC 29613; York Place Episcopal Church Home for Children, 234 Kings Mtn. Street, York, SC 29745 or the charity of your choice.
