Robert Thompson Obituary

Robert Bruce Thompson, died April 11, 2009, at his home with his brother, David and son, Matthew at his side.

He was the son of the late Robert Burns Thompson and Betty Hawkins Thompson of Simpsonville, South Carolina. His grandparents were the late Dallas and Loretta Hawkins of Dallas and A.G. and Bertie Burns Thompson of Little Rock, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Luna Thompson; sons, Christopher and Matthew, Alyson, Rob and Barrett Barger; sister, Lorie T. Watson of Simpsonville, South Carolina; brother and wife, David and Susan Thompson of Menominee, Mich.; and nieces and nephews, Ashley, Watson, Zachary Watson and Lucas Watson of Simpsonville, South Carolina.

Bruce was a graduate of Highland Park High School and University of Texas-Summa Cum Laude in Petroleum Engineering. After working for Hunt Oil Company, he became president of Legacy Investments and president of Hyperion Oil. He will be deeply missed by all who know him. He was a generous and outstanding witness for the Lord.

Services were held at Highland Park Methodist Church in Dallas on April 15, 2009, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (ALS), 12750 Merit Dr., Suite 1211, Dallas, TX 75251 or dallascast@mdausc.
