Ruth D. Garrett

Greenville, SC

Ruth Emily Dawson Garrett, 94, wife of the late Claude Taylor Garrett, was escorted by Angels to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late James Lloyd and Mary Maude Lipscombe Dawson. Mrs. Garrett was retired from Stone Mfg. and was a lifelong member of Reedy River Baptist Church. Mrs. Garrett loved to be outside; her happiest times were when she was working in her yard and garden and enjoying the majesty of God.

She is survived by her niece, Diane H. Gordon and husband Doug; a brother-in-law Murray Garrett and wife Erlene and many other loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Hester and husband Floyd and Hazel Hester and husband Hovey and a brother, James Milton Dawson.

Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon at Reedy River Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 PM Monday at the church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Reedy River Baptist Church, 871 US 25 North, Greenville, SC 29617.
