Farewell to this beautiful soul. She lived an extraordinary life; one that many people can learn how to live a life of awareness and love. She was an artist, adventurist, and an outstanding mother and grandmother. She was filled with knowledge and compassion. Above all, she was a strong and brave woman. Her fierce strength, truth and honesty were ever present in her life and art. She was a faithful friend to many and at the side of anyone who was in need.

Patricia was a very accomplished artist with a list of awards and accolades. The many awards she received include: Charles E. Blackwood Award in Art from Furman University in 1986; Thomas A. Atwood Award in Art. Patricia also participated in various art shows all over the country including: a Juried Show for The Taos Art Association in Taos, New Mexico, in 1991; a Solo Art Show at Furman University in 1993; a Solo Show for Taos Art Association in 1994; A Group Show at Laurel Creek Gallery in 2007; and a Group Show at Village Studios 2007. Patricia participated in Open Studios, 2006-2014. Open Studios showcases the creativity of talented artists from all over Greenville County. In 2009, Patricia showcased her art for Artisphere , was referenced in the, "American Art Collector" for the 2009 and 2010 editions. Finally, she created art for, Some Like it Hot, Encaustic Show, Metropolitan Council in 2013..Her paintings were displayed at Laurel Creek Galleries as well as her own studio in the West End.

Tricia was well traveled and loved to move all around the United States. She spent much of her childhood in Switzerland. She Graduated from Mt. Vernon College in Washington, D.C., and later graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Art, Fine Arts Major. She was a Sustainer in the Junior League of Greenville, a member of The Hessie Morrow Garden Club, Random Readers, The Metropolitan Arts Council, The Assembly, The Upcountry History Museum and Christ Church Episcopal.

Patricia Nelson Earle, better known as Tricia was born on December 18, 1942 in West Point, New York. Her parents were the late Colonel Wilton Haynsworth Earle, USAF Retired. Her mother was Patricia Ann Nelson Earle, a dearly loved lady by all. Tricia was predeceased by her brother, Thomas B. Earle, who died at the age of 46. She has two lovely nieces from her brother, Wynne H. Earle and Kate F. Earle.

Tricia is survived by her daughter Drayton Earle Lipscomb, granddaughter Lauren Olivia Lipscomb,(the light of her life), James E. Lipscomb, IV, Shan Norwood Lipscomb, Claude Benjamin Lipscomb, Pamela Lipscomb and grandchildren; James Wilkins Lipscomb and Jacqueline Anne Lipscomb. Also, surviving is her lifelong friend, confident, and ex - husband James Edward Lipscomb III, who loved her very much.

She has many close friends, however, there is one in particular that the family would like to recognize for her dedication and constant companionship to Patricia during this difficult time. She was her rock, her advocate and her savior, thank you Anne B. McIver. We want you to know how much we appreciate your friendship, help, dedication and love not only throughout our mother's illness, but throughout her life! You are a very special lady.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Greenville Metropolitan Arts Council or a charity of your choice. Patricia loved donating to the Greenville Humane Society and ASPCA.

The funeral will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., Christ Church Episcopal. Graveside services will follow at Springwood Cemetery. Following the graveside ceremony, the family will receive friends at the home of James E. Lipscomb III, 39 Harvest Court Greenville, S.C. 29605.
