Greer - Elizabeth Ivester Horton, of Greer, SC, passed away November 6, 2018 at the age of 49, one day passed her 24th wedding anniversary. Born in Greenville, SC, Beth was foremost a loving wife and mother to her two children. She is survived by her husband, Barry Stuart Horton; son, William Banks Horton; daughter, Ellison Elizabeth Horton; parents, Richard and Beverly Ivester of Greenville; sister, Lynn Ivester Scott also of Greenville; and brother, William Todd Ivester of Chapin, SC.

Growing up, Beth spent her summers with her family getting her famous tan at Litchfield Beach. Beth was a graduate of Eastside High School and Winthrop University, where she received a degree in Special Education. Beth enjoyed her times working at InsideOut at Home where she treasured her co-workers. Outside of work, Beth was close with many friends both in and out of her neighborhood and spent many summer days at "Sugar Creek 7" relaxing with her friends laughing and swimming. Back at home, Beth cherished her two Boxers, Walker and Dora, which she loved dearly.

When I used to see Beth walking the halls of Buena Vista, the things I noticed about her were her endearing smile, her consistently amazing tan, and the fierce love she had for all she considered 'hers.' Hold your memories close, and know that Beth will always be loved and admired by all blessed enough to call her 'friend.'

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of sweet Beth. I have fantastic memories of growing up with her at John Knox. We sure had fun in Sunday School, in the youth choir, at youth group and on the basketball team. My prayers are with all of you.

Beth you were my favorite. I always knew it would be a good day when we were working together. My goal every day was to make you laugh...because I knew if you did, you'd likely say something funnier and I'd laugh harder. Things will never be the same. That's ok...I know you'll always be with us. I just wish you didn't have to leave us physically. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your sweet friendship, for all the laughs, for all the sarcasm, for laughing at me when I probably wasn't really that funny, and for always being the brightest, shiniest light in the room. I will miss you always. XO

I am so so very sad to hear about Beth. She was the kindest neighbor and friend anyone could ever want...a second mom to my boys as they grew up in Greenville...my thoughts and prayers to Barry, Ellie and Banks and the Horton and Ivester families.
