Carol Auer Obituary

CAROL (MCCOY) AUER, age 94, previously of Greenwich, and Hobe Sound, Fla., died peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2011. Carol was the widow of Bernhard M. Auer. She was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up in Bronxville, N.Y. She married Bernie on May 26, 1941 and they enjoyed a wonderful life together, full of family, friends, travel and lots of laughter. Carol was a graduate of William & Mary College and attended the Parsons School of Design. She was a designer/ decorator and a prolific and talented artist. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Susan and Jonathan Beasley of Lansdowne, Pa., Sally and Anthony Zunino of Kent, William and Maureen Auer of Fairfield; grandchildren, Dylan Parks and his wife, Liz, Damian Zunino and his wife, Britt, Bowen Zunino and fiance, Jeff Barnett-Winsby, Tyler Auer, Cody Auer, Nick Auer, Alex Auer; and four great-grandchildren, Lily Parks, Josie Parks, Brecken Regentin and Harper Zunino. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Raleigh McCoy and John McCoy. A memorial service will be held in Jupiter Island, Fla., later in the Spring.

Carol was a wonderful godmother to me, and a wonderful friend to my parents. Pat and Bob and Carol and Bernie sure knew how to party, and let's hope they are all doing that together somewhere warm and sunny right now.
