Mary Arnold Obituary

Mrs. Mary Copelan Arnold, age 78, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, entered this world on October 31, 1946, and completed her journey Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Azalea Senior Care. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 46 years, Lorain J. Arnold, Jr. on Monday, February 2, 2015. She is survived by her beloved son, Matthew Lorain Arnold of Lawrenceville, GA; sisters, Janet C. Byrd and her son, Jason C. Byrd (Jennifer) all of Lawrenceville, GA; brother-in-law, Lenard Collins of Gainesville, GA and his two sons & daughters-in-law, Mr. Secretary Douglas A. Collins (Lisa) and David Collins (Ashlie); sisters-in-law, Sara Joyner and husband Buddy of Charleston, SC, Charlene Naylor and husband Darrin of Millwood, GA; brother-in-law, Harold Arnold and wife Evelia of Richmond Hill, GA; other nieces & nephews, Vanessa Copelan Burt (son, Logan) and fiancé George Lainhart, Brentwood Smith, Bonnie Duvall (Billy), Brian Ivie (Grace), Clara Copelan (Danny), Russell Ivie, Mitchell Pollock (Bambi), Diane Pollock, Deborah Everett and Lisa Bolin (Skip), Samantha Bennett (James), Tracy Reid (Brent), Harolito Arnold, Lizette Arnold, Jay Cleary (Pillaure), Aaron Joyner (Michael Nettles), Jason Arnold, Michael Patterson (Ashley), Jesse Ivey (Fiora), and Becky Naylor; other relatives and a host of dear friends over the years. Mrs. Arnold was also preceded in death by her parents, Joe Wheeler Rossman Copelan, Sr. and Clara Eunice Hayes Copelan; six siblings, W. R. Copelan, Jr., Peggy Kate Rosencrance, Myrtis Hayes Pollock, Clara Jo Ivie, Dorothy Copelan Collins and Lillian Copelan Smith, two nephews, Ross Copelan and Al Rosenrance. Mrs. Arnold was born on October 31, 1946, at home in Greshamville, Georgia. She was a 1964 graduate of Greene County High School. She graduated from the Women's College of Georgia, where she received a degree in teaching. She taught at North Hall High School in Gainesville, GA, then later worked with Kindercare Daycare Center. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening and planting flowers. She was a member of Greshamville United Methodist Church and always enjoyed going to the homecoming celebrations. This wonderful southern lady will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. The Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Mary Copelan Arnold will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with The Honorable Douglas A. Collins, United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17th from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make donations to Creative Enterprises, LLC 701 Hi Hope Lane Lawrenceville, GA 30042 in memory of Mrs. Mary Copelan Arnold.
