Mary and Frank Hilbing
January 30, 2018
Our deepest Sympathy to the family of Jack Hilbing. We only learned of his untimely death in January of 2018. My husband Frank Hilbing in Welland, Ontario, Canada and Jack were 3rd cousins, having ancestors coming out of the same homestead in Germany, but they only found each other through a mistaken e-mail address that brought the 2 families to-gether some 20 years ago. With Jack's interest in Geneaology and the little knowledge we could provide we were able to search and prove that indeed they were part of the same family. Jack visited us and we enjoyed keeping in touch through e-mails and letters and up-dates on each others families. The last letter we had said they were looking forward to their 3 great grandchild who would arrive in May, 2017. To the family .... we are truly sorry for your loss... and will miss hearing from him. "Rest in Peace Jack."

Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of the Hilbing family during this time of of saying your final goodbyes. Jack will always be remembered for all of his dedicated work on the Hoddinghaus family genealogy. He worked effortlessly in making sure the family research was accurate and well documented. Jack along with the efforts of many helped to bring all Hoddinghaus family lines into the "Forever Family". Thinking especially of his Quincy siblings - Mary and Joe, Joan, and Judith; in addition to his wife and children. Jack you were a great family man and you have earned your eternal rest. Thanks Jack for all that you have done, and it was my honor to know you.

I do not know Jack but I know his sisters, Judith and Judine. Apples don't fall far from trees so I know Jack must have been a man of great integrity. May all of his family find peace in their hearts knowing Jack was so very loved. God bless.

I've only known Jack for a short time from his work at the SVDP pantry. But in that time I came to know a selfless, energetic, and friendly man with a big heart. He will be missed by the many thousands of neighbors he helped at the pantry, as well as his fellow volunteers. My prayers and thoughts to his family.
