High Flight
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

May God give you strength,

Fellow pilot, Greg Millat

so many countless nights I've spent with Clay, some great, some not so great but his smile was the happiest always, and his laugh was the most powerful, he was a hell of a man, and a dear friend I'll never forget Clay and all the great times we shared. But he will live on forever through our memories

My wife and I bought a truck from Clay at Wetzel Ford, he was such a bright, well-spoken, helpful, conscientious, and motivated young man. We immediately liked him, and even after the purchase, would find a reason to stop in and see him and say Hi.

Over the months since the purchase I continued to talk to Clay and speak to him about cars, airplanes, selling, and other things. We had even recently become friends on Facebook. I had promised him a ride on one of my tanks, for a ride in his airplane. I was so shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. He was such a wonderful young man, it was truly a blow for us, and for the world to have lost him so soon.

We want to offer our sincere condolences to his family, and to his girlfriend. We want you to know that in our conversations he spoke of you all with great pride, love, and admiration. He was undoubtedly proud of his family and it showed, your achievements, his home, and the blessed life he had been given. He also spoke of his girlfriend as well, and how much he cared for her.

We are so sorry... and pray the Lord to give lift you up and support you all through this terrible loss, and that even with the passing of time, you will continue to carry Clay with you in your hearts and minds.

Sincerely,

Dave & Mary Bane
