Mary Fuehrer Obituary

News Death Notice

FUEHRER, Mary Louise DeMuth was born June 7, 1923, the daughter of loving parents George Washington and Florence Edna Clark DeMuth. She grew up in Sherwood, Ohio with three siblings who preceded her in death, sisters Helen and Nancy, and brother Frank, and one sibling who survives her, George Richard. She attended Western College for Women, in Oxford, for one year, before moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan to attend the University of Michigan. While in Ann Arbor, she met and married William Dudley Fuehrer to whom she was devoted. Bill preceded her in death in 1992. Mary is also survived by her daughter, Ann Elizabeth, of Oxford, and Ann's partner, Rebecca Howard, and their daughter Kaili; her son, David William, of Memphis, Tennessee, and David's wife Missy and sons Lucian and Tyler; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Family was most important to Mary. Mary lived and worked for 37 years in Normal, Illinois, where she was a medical technologist. She was kind, with a wry sense of humor, and generous with her time. She was a devoted church member, and served as a scout leader, and volunteered for Planned Parenthood. She moved to Oxford in 2000 to live at the Knolls of Oxford, where she was one of the earliest residents. Mary's faith was important to her as well, and she joined the Oxford Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon. She also served as a volunteer at the Family Resource Center. Mary loved to travel, and to do anything she could for her family. Her kindness and generosity will be missed. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oxford Presbyterian Church in memory of Mary D. Fuehrer. The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford, Ohio is handling the arrangements. www.smithoglefuneralhome.com
