LOGIUDICE, David P.
David Patrick Logiudice, 59, beloved husband of Leslie (Cozzi) Logiudice, went home to rest peacefully with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday (May 19, 2012) at Yale New Haven Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Hartford on March 17, 1953. He is preceded in death by his mother Catherine (Paguni) Logiudice. He is survived by his father Paul Logiudice of Middletown, his daughter, Lauren (Logiudice) Boulé and her husband Christopher of East Hampton; his son, Patrick Logiudice of Denver CO; a brother, Paul Logiudice of Boca Raton, FL; a sister, Deborah Gastler of Chester, CT; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and beloved friends. Dave was the owner of Logiudice Electric, Incorporated and also worked part time as an electrician at Covenant Village in Cromwell, CT. His passion for his trade and his love for the Lord gave him the opportunity to travel through the Mercy Ship organization to Northern Thailand. As part of a construction team, he was able to help build a vocational training school to teach the local villagers how to farm, fish, and learn agricultural skills all while serving the Lord. His skills also brought him to Biloxi, MS, following Hurricane Katrina, where he personally went into individual homes to restore power and light the homes and spirits of those affected by the storm. For the last 40 years David worked side by side with his "extended family," Planeta Electric, to give light and power to the Durham Fair, the largest agricultural fair in Connecticut. His love for the fair and all the people working beside him brought him back year after year. It was one of the greatest joys in his life. Service to his church was another one of his deepest commitments. He was trustee chairman for six years and is revered among the church body as a lifetime member who contributed in any capacity needed.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Valley Bible Church, 220 Turkey Hill Road, Haddam, CT, followed by a time of fellowship and remembrance over light refreshments. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers those that wish to contribute may do so by giving to the Mercy Ship Organization at www.mercyships.org or Middlesex Hospital Department of Radiology. Biega Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com

As manager of Electrical Wholesalers I have known Dave for over twenty years. He was more than a customer, he was my friend. He had a decency and tranquility about him which is rare for anyone these days, let alone those of us in the construction industry. He was a cheerful fellow who was usually had a kind thing to say. When talking to the guys at work, or to other customers, no one seems to remember him ever being down or angry. Even when he told me of his plight he did it calmly, courageously, and with a smile. Please accept my deepest condolences, and know that Dave had a positive affect on us all and will be missed very much.
