KENDZIOR, Leo J. Leo J. Kendzior, 84, of Meriden, died peacefully on Saturday, (April 22, 2006), after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Emily (Dawidowicz) Kendzior. Mr. Kendzior was born in Middletown on February 24, 1922, the son of the late Mathias and Catherine (Ryczek) Kendzior. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He was employed as a product engineer with Jarvis Power Tools in Middletown for 43 years, where his work resulted in the granting of several patents. An avid golfer, Mr. Kendzior was a former member of the City of Meriden Golf Commission and a trustee of the Hunter Men's Golf Club. He also was a member of Meriden Elks Lodge No. 35. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Lawrence J. and Barbara R. Kendzior, and his son Daniel M. Kendzior, all of Meriden, and by his dear granddaughters, Elizabeth A. Kendzior of New York, and Sarah J. Kendzior and her husband Peter Blackwell of Bloomington, IN. He also is survived by his brother Thaddeus Kendzior and his wife Barbara of Meriden, and his sisters Sophie Daniels and Mel Johnson of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and Rose Walsh and her husband Thomas of Old Saybrook, by a cherished and devoted friend Ann E. Gavin of Warwick, RI, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael L. Kendzior, brothers, George and Frank, and sisters, Helen and Stephanie Kendzior. The family would like to express their gratitude to the fine people who took care of Leo at Miller Memorial during his final weeks, especially Penny and Jeff and many others. The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Middletown. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
